The Lexington, KY market is seeing an increase in economic development and national recognition attributed to the region’s affordability and strategic location, enticing both new businesses and residents alike.
Lexington climbs higher in U.S. economic development rankings. For 2023, the region achieved a significant move up the rankings in both total projects (10th) and projects per capita (7th), jumping into the Top 10 nationally for Tier 2 Metros with a population between 200,000 and one million.
New 200-acre Lexington business park estimated to create nearly 1,700 jobs. According to the City, the 18-month build out on the business park should begin this fall.
Cowgill, Inc., a Lexington-based property development and management company, announced the development of a 44-acre plot of land in East Lexington. “Hamburg East” will include restaurants, hotels, apartments, retailers, and green spaces.
The University of Kentucky will soon begin a major construction project to build an eight-story, 550,000-square-foot cancer and advanced ambulatory facility. The center and parking garage are both set for completion in 2027.
