INDOT breaks ground on I-69 Ohio River Crossing project.
What This Means For You: The $202 million project aims to complete “the key connection between Indiana and Kentucky.” This is the last phase of a 40-year project on I-69. Its completion is expected to boost Evansville’s economy by merging the gap between Evansville and Indianapolis and attracting new talent and businesses.
Ground broken on 20-acre, $15 million park and green space in Warrick County.
What This Means For You: The Ohio Township Park will include a playground; a splash pad and slide; outdoor fitness stations; running, walking and biking trails; yard games; sport courts; event lawns; a lake feature; shelter house with party rooms; and pavilions, among other features. Park amenities are expected to begin opening in late spring.
Metronet breaks ground on $35 million project to build a new fiber-optic network in Broken Arrow.
What This Means For You: Metronet, based in Evansville, Indiana, will offer up to 5-gigabit speeds for residential customers and 10-gigabit speeds for businesses. The provider says they’ll be ready to offer services to some people in Broken Arrow as soon as the end of this year.
