What This Means For You: Birmingham made the top 25 cities among the nation’s best places for small businesses, as Alabama was one of just seven states to have multiple cities on the list. The survey ranked cities based on growth over the last 12 months + since January 2025 when new tariffs were announced. According to the report, the city has benefited from not only a growing population but also more local spending.
Atlantic Aviation Breaks Ground on Major BHM Airport Expansion
What This Means For You: Atlantic Aviation has broken ground on a redevelopment and expansion of its leasehold at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM), which will include a new FBO facility, additional hangars, and expanded ramp space. The redevelopment is scheduled for completion in early 2027.
Brasfield & Gorrie Completes $18.9M Birmingham Campus Expansion
What This Means For You: The three-story, 28,500-square-foot expansion created 64 new jobs, with a goal of 85 jobs within five years. In addition to the expansion, Brasfield & Gorrie also recently opened a new 9,650-square-foot Field Training Center in Birmingham near Irondale.
RPI Construction Rentals Relocates HQ to Birmingham with $9.6M Investment

The expansion will also bring 17 new jobs to the city of Birmingham in management, sales, technical and administrative roles. Construction is expected to be complete by June 2026.
Truckworx to Build $6.8M Corporate HQ in Birmingham
What This Means For You: Heavy-duty truck dealer Truckworx announced the construction of a new corporate headquarters in Birmingham. 52 “high-paying jobs” are planned to come from the project, which has a total economic impact estimated at nearly $3.5 million over 20 years.
